A letter to 20-something dreamers

20-something with no address or steady job. Sounds familiar? Read further, you're not alone.

I've never imagined my life to be so colorful and exciting! I packed my stuff and moved to Barcelona a year ago right after I graduated from university. And that was the best thing that has ever happened to me. I was constantly lost, changed like 5 jobs in 3 months, got kicked out of the flat and almost left to Thailand (laughing and shaking my head now thinking about it). I fell in love with a wonderful man who lives across the Atlantic. Then moved to a tiny teeny room in front of the Picasso museum with no windows, two cats named Pablo and Picasso (no idea how I survived there 2 months) and a Moroccan landlord named Don Simon. After that moved to another flat with a Ukrainian crazy landlord. Then followed 3 months in Minnesota, US where it was constantly -20 degrees for 2 months. Now I'm back in Lithuania and am about to move back to where I started - Barcelona. 

This time I'm going back with a plan! I'm going back to study what I really wanted for such a long time but was always afraid to say it out loud. After 4 years of linguistics studies and a year of teaching English, I'm going back to school for FASHION. This is why this blog was born. This blog was born, because Sophie and I went wrong ways choosing our careers after school and just now we're realizing that it's never too late to go for your dreams. Barcelona might be a great place to do that. So we're coming back!

Let's share our 20-something stories. This is the best time of our lives, isn't it? I know, it doesn't look like it most of the time ;)

POCKETS FULL OF SUNSHINE

Hello from Midwest US!

 We're back with pockets full of sunshine. Sorry for being remote, but recently we've been very focused on our big fashion plans that hopefully we can share with you soon! Meanwhile one of us is still in Minnesota striving for warmth and sun. So Shane (the one with the man bun in the pics) and I went outside to play with our new outfits. We took some pictures outside an old farm and then went back to the city to snap some urban style.

Hola, queenspiration seekers! Feliz Primavera! Paris Fashion Week is currently closing a crazy month of fashion events. NOVELTIES

Hola, queenies! 

Greetings from the Midwest, USA! We're spreading the queenie word across the ocean to the USA. We're having fun shooting some men's fashion over here in the freeeezing conditions and exploring modern art museum 'Walker Art Center' in Minneapolis, MN. A fresh gulp of art, clean shapes, architecture and lights is what we found inside and outside the Walker.

NYFW STREET STYLE

NYFW went back to the 90's on the runway, but let's see what street style queenies were wearing in the blizzard streets of NYC.

NYFW GOES GRUNGE

Just about a week ago we got inspired by a little gem found in 2nd hand shop - a sweatshirt saying "90s Child". Apparently, 90's are staying longer than we thought. 90's is a THING right now not only in Barcelona, but in NYFW as well. We couldn't be happier about it! Chunky boots, leather, latex, big coats and dark red lipstick - what's not to like about it? Our closets are already filled with all the goodies, I guess queenies are always looking forward ;) 

Tomorrow is the last day of NYFW, then fashion shows transfer to London. We bet grunge style ancestors will rock the runways. We'll keep you updated!

90'S CHILD

Hola queenies! Today we're embracing Barcelona's favourite trend at the moment by releasing our inner 90's child! We're all mad for Sport chic right now, Nike, Adidas, New Balance can be seen everywhere in Barcelona... (who wouldn't want to wear sneakers every day, right?) That in mind we embraced ripped denim and crazy prints and got our 90's groove on. The main inspiration for this look was this little gem picked up in a 2nd hand shop, the "90s child" sweatshirt. Check it out!

Bless Neiman Marcus for these words and hey couldn't be more true. Maybe that's why people in Barcelona love wearing black so much even in summertime when it's 35 degrees. So, we took our dark outfits to Cemetery of Montjuic. It's one of the biggest cemeteries in Europe, full of beautiful statues. We had a fun trip getting there (standard lost queenies) and changed in the freezing cold (we know, it looks like it's 20 degrees but it honestly wasn't!) THURSDAY CRAVING

Our craving of everyday - coffee. Love the smell, the action of going to get a "cafe con leche" and staying in our favourite "brainstorm" place for hours makes us feel alive. This is how we want to look like every time we go for coffee - comfortable, stylish and edgy. That's how queenies do it! 

STOP FREEZING

So we're finally back in Barcelona from our frozen lands! Christmas was great and pretty royal, but there's nowhere as good as Barcelona, where you can wear a crop top and sneakers in January. Last Sunday we headed to the streets of Gracia in search of colours and inspiring spaces. The neighbourhood is such an artistic space, so we got rummaging through our closets for floral prints, metallic colours, sparkles and velvet, and headed out to conquer the streets! We even included some of our own queenie creations - a handmade gold quilted rucksack and clutch bag, so let us know what you think. Click on the photo below for the full outfit post.
